A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a shooting near Via Marconi in Torre del Greco on Sunday, 13 September, in which two young people were injured.
According to Il Mattino, investigators reconstructed the episode as beginning with a dispute between groups of young people after a request to light a cigarette. The confrontation escalated, and at least five shots were reportedly fired at human height.
Investigators initially believed that one young man had been wounded. Further inquiries later identified a second injured person, described as the apparent primary target of the shots.
Surveillance footage assisted investigators in reconstructing the sequence of events. During a search at the 21-year-old suspect's home, officers reportedly seized a clandestine firearm with an erased serial number, along with clothing allegedly worn during the episode.
The suspect's detention was subsequently converted into pretrial imprisonment. The allegations reported include attempted murder aggravated by futile motives, carrying a clandestine weapon, and receiving stolen goods.
The report states that the suspect admitted firing the shots but denied intending to kill. The names of the suspect and the two injured people were not published, and details of the second victim's medical condition remain limited.
The case remains under investigation, and guilt has not been finally established by a court.
