A 39-year-old Algerian man was injured with a bottle shard on Via Giustiniani, in the Porta Nolana area of Naples.
Carabinieri from the radiomobile unit responded after a report of a man injured with a bottle. The victim was reportedly struck by a foreign man believed to be of North African origin.
The 39-year-old sustained injuries to the chest and left arm from the bottle shard. He was taken to hospital and was not in life-threatening condition.
Investigations are ongoing by the Carabinieri operational unit of the Napoli Stella company. The motive for the assault was not clear, and the identity of the alleged attacker was not reported.
