A 26-year-old woman from Torre Annunziata gave birth to her fourth daughter inside a car while her family was travelling toward hospital.
Lucia's waters broke and the family set off for hospital, but labour progressed too quickly to reach it. The birth took place near the cemetery road in Torre Annunziata.
Her partner, Enrico, assisted with the delivery and held their newborn daughter, named Patrizia, immediately afterward.
Mother and baby were then taken to the hospital in Boscotrecase for initial checks. They were later transferred to Castellammare di Stabia, where the umbilical cord was cut.
