Three people smashed the windows of an Audi SQ5 with an iron club and stole the vehicle during the night in San Nicola la Strada, in the province of Caserta.
According to Il Mattino Caserta, the attack took place in Via Pertini. The three assailants reportedly pulled alongside the Audi and broke its windows with force, forcing the two occupants to get out.
Two occupants forced out of the car
The occupants were a 32-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman. The driver suffered abrasions to his face and left foot and was treated at the scene by 118 medical personnel.
The reported value of the vehicle together with the damage from the assault was estimated at around 100,000 euros.
Vehicle found in Mondragone
The stolen Audi SQ5 was later traced to Mondragone, in the locality of Destra Volturno. It was seized for further forensic checks.
At the time of the report, those responsible had not been identified. The Carabinieri were examining surveillance camera footage and searching the recovered car for fingerprints and other traces.
