Limatola, in the province of Benevento, is facing continuing problems with its electricity supply, including repeated outages, recurring faults and voltage drops across the municipal area.
Mayor Domenico Parisi has publicly protested the disruption. According to NTR24, Parisi said he sent a formal request for urgent intervention to E-Distribuzione S.p.A. on 9 October 2026.
The reported disruptions are affecting businesses, shopkeepers and other local economic activities, as well as vulnerable residents.
Parisi has set a 24-hour deadline for the service to be restored. If the problems are not resolved within that time, he said he will file a formal complaint with ARERA, Italy's energy regulator, and notify the Prefect of Benevento.
It is not yet verified whether service was fully restored after that deadline. No independent response from E-Distribuzione, ARERA or the Prefecture was available in the reporting. Details on the number of customers affected, the duration of individual outages and the technical causes of the faults were also not provided.
