Torrecuso will have a new medical practice starting October 1, 2026. General practitioner Elisa Calabrese, who works in the San Giorgio del Sannio health district, will see patients in the town two days per week.
The municipality will temporarily provide rooms in contrada Oliveto, at the former Casa Comunale. The exact days and opening hours have not yet been announced.
The initiative follows the retirement of Giovanni Antonio Cutillo, who had cared for more than 1,500 residents. Mayor Angelino Iannella, in office since June 10, 2024, presented the new practice as a concrete municipal response to the difficulties faced by elderly people, vulnerable patients, and people with chronic conditions left without local coverage.
Residents should note that the opening does not automatically assign Dr. Calabrese as their doctor. Choosing a general practitioner remains governed by Regional Health Service procedures. Residents without medical coverage can apply through the ASL offices in San Giorgio del Sannio or through the regional Sinfonia platform.
