A new coordination meeting was held at the Benevento Prefecture to review the situation following the fire in Airola, bringing the post-emergency response back to the institutional table.
According to NTR24, the meeting brought together the Prefecture, regional authorities, the local health authority ASL, the regional environmental agency ARPAC, and the Istituto Zooprofilattico. Data gathered from investigations carried out after the fire were acquired and shared among the participating bodies.
The focus was on two points: communication with the public and the next operational phase. Institutions plan to provide periodic, accessible updates to residents and local operators on the available data and the results of the assessments conducted so far.
The post-emergency phase is expected to center on remediation and securing the affected area. No detailed measurements, technical findings, timetable, or funding arrangements for that work were reported.
What remains unclear is whether any restrictions affecting residents, farming, or commercial activity are still in force, and which body will lead the remediation works. Further updates are expected as the assessment results are communicated and the remediation path is defined.
