Funding lines opened by Italy's 2026 Budget Law are now being linked to specific municipal projects across the Sannio area of the province of Benevento. The update was reported by NTR24 on 23 September 2026 in connection with a statement attributed to Senator Domenico Matera, who described it as the concrete result of work carried out in the Budget Law.
The interventions are reported under the framework of Article 1, paragraphs 772 and 773, of Law 199/2025. The available material lists planned or announced projects; it does not establish that payments have already been made or that construction has started.
Reported projects by municipality
According to the NTR24 report, the municipalities named as beneficiaries are all in the Sannio area:
- Bonea: maintenance work concerning the municipal nursery.

- Frasso Telesino: functional redevelopment of the covered structure in Piazza Mercato.
- Melizzano: work concerning a football pitch in Torello.
- Arpaia: a municipal-police vehicle and furnishings for an infant school.
- Campoli del Taburno: works on municipal property.
The report does not give the amount allocated to each municipality or a total figure for the Sannio area.
What the funding framework requires
A Ministry of the Interior template for the contribution under paragraph 772 confirms the administrative side of the same framework. Beneficiaries are required to document the project or intervention, its total budget, any other sources of financing, and its expected implementation timetable.
For investments, the Ministry documentation also requires a CUP, the unique project code used for public investment projects in Italy. In other words, the municipal projects listed in the local report sit inside a national procedure that asks each beneficiary to define what will be done, what it will cost, how it fits with other funding, and when it is expected to be implemented.

Read together, the reported interventions fall into four practical groups:
- Buildings and municipal services: the nursery in Bonea, parish premises in Bucciano, municipal property in Campoli del Taburno, the infant school in Arpaia, and the covered market structure in Frasso Telesino.
- Roads and everyday infrastructure: municipal road maintenance and safety in San Nicola Manfredi, Traversa Castello and the Via Centrale car park in Bucciano, and the municipal-police vehicle in Arpaia.
- Heritage, memory and culture: the War Memorial and fountains in San Bartolomeo in Galdo, the Chapel of San Nicola in Casalduni, the Museum of Balloons digital route in Fragneto Monforte, and the court-theatre in Castelpoto.
