Carabinieri in the Naples metropolitan area have placed a 20-year-old resident of Sant'Antonio Abate under house arrest with an electronic bracelet in connection with alleged drug dealing, according to a report by Metropolis Web.
The case centers on the discovery, reported as made on 3 July 2026, of approximately 186 grams of cocaine and crack inside an abandoned rural building in Sant'Antonio Abate. According to the report, the drugs were concealed in a portable security box left among rubbish.
What was seized
Also seized were four precision scales and containers holding white powder. Investigators described the equipment as consistent with weighing, processing and packaging individual doses.
The 20-year-old, originally from Pompei and resident in Sant'Antonio Abate, is under investigation for alleged possession of drugs for the purpose of dealing and continued dealing.
How the investigation identified the suspect
The precautionary measure was ordered by the investigating judge (GIP) of the Torre Annunziata court, at the request of the Torre Annunziata Public Prosecutor's Office, and carried out by carabinieri from Castellammare di Stabia.
According to the report, investigators relied on private surveillance footage and alleged repeated visits to the abandoned building. Clothing and accessories found during a home search, along with a tattoo matching the person recorded on video, were also cited as identifying elements.
The alleged street-level dealing activity is reported to have taken place between January and August 2026. The report further says the suspect admitted the contested charges during preventive questioning before the GIP.
No independent official statement or court document was available to corroborate the details, and the exact location of the building was not identified in the source. The allegations and the precautionary measure do not establish a final conviction, and the final procedural outcome and any forensic confirmation of the seized substances have not been reported.
