A young man was injured by gunfire in the CMI district of Castellammare di Stabia, on via Napoli near a former petrol station.
According to the initial reconstruction reported by Metropolis Web, two people on a scooter, wearing face coverings, fired several shots at the victim from behind.
The victim was described as originally from Castellammare's historic centre and as having recently moved to the CMI public-housing complex.
He was taken to the emergency department of San Leonardo hospital. His identity, age and medical condition have not been reported.
Police forces went to the scene to begin investigations. The exact time of the shooting and the number of shots fired have not been established, and the attackers' identities and motive remain unknown. Whether any arrests have been made is unknown.
