Avellino's potential role in Mediterranean business and economic relations was the focus of a public meeting held in the Sala Blu of the Carcere Borbonico in Avellino on Saturday 3 October at 16:00.
The meeting, titled "Avellino al centro del Mediterraneo, la strategia che si fa impresa", was organized by Insieme per Avellino e l'Irpinia, the Coordinamento Nazionale dei Piccoli Comuni and SVIMAR. According to IrpiniaNews, the stated objective was to discuss how Avellino and Irpinia could position themselves within wider Mediterranean entrepreneurial networks.
Contributors included representatives connected with local institutions, the University of Salerno, the Irpinia wine-protection consortium, Assoprovider, Confindustria Campania and the Torello Group.
The discussion covered enterprise, infrastructure, universities, wine production, energy and digital connectivity. Specific themes included the "lotto zero" rail project, completion of electrification on the Salerno–Avellino–Benevento line, industrial areas, digital infrastructure, viticulture, energy, construction and opportunities for young people.
These infrastructure proposals and assessments of Avellino's strategic role were presented as positions and discussion points by participants, not as confirmed outcomes or commitments.
The debate concluded with the presentation of the "Premio Castagna d'Oro".
