State Police officers have executed a pretrial detention order in prison against a 41-year-old man from the Avellino hinterland, accused of mistreatment, robbery, extortion and assault against his mother.
The measure was carried out on 2 October on authority delegated by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Avellino. According to the investigation as reported so far, inquiries reconstructed alleged repeated harassing, violent and vexatious conduct toward the woman.
The investigating judge of the Court of Avellino upheld the prosecution's request and ordered custody in prison. The man was located in the municipality of Naples and transferred to the "G. Salvia" prison at Poggioreale.
The case remains at the preliminary investigation stage. The charges are provisional, and the suspect must be considered presumed innocent until any final conviction.
