The Carabinieri Company of Avellino, supported by the S.I.O. of the 10th Carabinieri Regiment "Campania," carried out an extraordinary territorial-control operation in Avellino and the surrounding areas aimed at combating widespread crime.
According to the IrpiniaNews report, officers checked approximately 250 people and 100 vehicles during the operation. Two vehicles were seized and two driving licences were withdrawn.
Three cases resulted in formal action:
- A 20-year-old resident of Monteforte Irpino was referred while at liberty for allegedly breaching a two-year ban on returning to Avellino.
- A 50-year-old was referred while at liberty after allegedly committing aggravated theft at a supermarket in Atripalda.
- A 30-year-old from Serino was reported to the Prefecture of Avellino under Article 75 of Presidential Decree 309/90 for alleged personal use of hashish.
