Provincial Police in Caserta have seized an agricultural plot in Mondragone after finding cement-asbestos material on the land, some of it deteriorated.
The operation was carried out by the Polizia Provinciale di Caserta, coordinated by commander Biagio Chiariello. Officers cordoned off the area and placed it under seal to prevent access and any further movement of the material.
According to the initial findings, the plot is jointly registered to four people. Investigators are now working to establish where the asbestos-cement came from, how it was dumped, and who is responsible.
The seizure has been reported to the Procura della Repubblica presso il Tribunale di Santa Maria Capua Vetere. The relevant authorities have been notified for the next steps, including securing the site and remediation.
The exact quantity of material, the precise size and location of the plot, and the timing of the cleanup have not been disclosed.
