A car belonging to Giuseppe Maselli, head of the Technical Office of the Municipality of Altavilla Irpina, was damaged by fire during the night before 21 October 2026.
The incident happened on Via Feola. According to local press reporting, the flames damaged the vehicle and also affected Maselli's home.
Personnel from the local Carabinieri station and firefighters from the Avellino Provincial Fire Brigade attended the scene.
Investigators are treating the fire as possibly deliberate, with an initial hypothesis that it may have been an act of intimidation. That motive has not been confirmed, and no person responsible has been identified.
Altavilla Irpina Mayor Mario Vanni expressed solidarity with Maselli and his family and called for those responsible to be identified.
