Ariano Irpino has updated its 2026–2028 public-works programme with four water-supply and sewer interventions worth a combined €6.48 million. The update was made through council deliberation no. 35 of 29 September 2026, according to local press accounts.
The works are placed in the 2027 programme year, with a stated focus on rural areas and contrade.
Four planned interventions
The reported allocations are:
- €2.565 million for the potable-water network serving rural nuclei in Difesa Grande
- €700,000 for the Perazzo–Bivio di Villanova sewer collector
- €1 million for the Via Annunziata sewer network
- €2.215 million for water and sewer infrastructure in Orneta
Together, the four entries cover potable-water networks, sewer collectors and sewer networks, and combined water and sewer infrastructure across the four named locations.
Three roundabouts proposed for SS90
In a separate measure, deliberation no. 37, the administration formally requested the inclusion of three roundabouts in the next programme update agreed between the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport (MIT) and ANAS.
The proposed locations are:
- Fontanuova at km 23+850
- Camporeale at km 31+820
- Camporeale–Area PIP entrance at km 33+300
The proposal includes a preliminary feasibility study prepared by the municipal technical office. Further coordination with ANAS and the Ministry is reported as the next institutional step.
Programme status and what to watch
The measures described are at the planning and programming stage. The sources reviewed do not establish that construction has begun or that all funding has been secured.
What is not yet confirmed in the available reporting:
- Procurement timelines, construction contracts and completion dates
- The current status of funding connected to the programme entries
- The exact scope, design and financing of the three proposed SS90 roundabouts, which remain subject to feasibility work and institutional approval
The original council deliberations and their technical annexes were not independently retrieved, so the amounts, locations and programme dates above rely on consistent accounts in the Irpinia local press.
