The Avellino Prosecutor's Office is moving forward in the investigation into the death of 32-year-old Giovanna Lo Chiatto and her unborn child in Mercogliano.

According to IrpiniaNews, prosecutors have scheduled the appointment of a panel of medico-legal experts for Tuesday at 10:30. The experts will be tasked with examining the deaths, which followed a medical emergency while Lo Chiatto was carrying a baby at nearly nine months of gestation.

The examination is expected to cover multiple aspects of the case, including the management of the pregnancy and what happened on the day of the tragedy.

The investigation is being coordinated by an investigating prosecutor, together with the Carabinieri of Mercogliano and the Avellino Company.

The family is represented by lawyers Innocenzo Massaro and Livio Liguori. They may appoint their own technical consultant to take part in the autopsy procedures and related examinations.

The cause of death and any possible responsibility remain unresolved pending the medico-legal investigation. No findings from the autopsy have been reported.
