The Carabinieri of Torella dei Lombardi held a public prevention meeting focused on scams targeting older people.
The meeting took place during the second edition of the Festa dei Nonni e degli Anziani, an initiative organized with local associations, the parish and the municipal administration. The mayor, members of the municipal administration, local associations and the parish priest took part. Around 250 older residents attended.
During the meeting, the commander of the local Carabinieri station explained precautions for recognizing and resisting common fraud attempts. Residents were advised not to hand over money or valuables to strangers and to contact the Carabinieri promptly when a situation appears suspicious.
Carabinieri information leaflets were distributed to participants at the end of the meeting.
