Paola Montone officially assumed her duties as a magistrate of the Preliminary Investigations Office, known in Italy as the Ufficio Gip, at the Tribunal of Avellino on Friday, 5 November 2026.
Montone, originally from Montoro and born in 1984, transfers to Avellino after serving in the trial section of the Tribunal of Nocera Inferiore from 2018 until 24 October 2026.
Her appointment followed a decision in July by the Plenum of Italy's Superior Council of the Judiciary, which approved a transfer resolution proposed by the Council's Seventh Commission.
With Montone's arrival, the Avellino Gip office returns to four magistrates: Paola Montone, Michela Eligiato, Giulio Argenio and Antonio Sicuranza.
