A 45-year-old man from Avella was arrested after allegedly slapping a carabiniere inside the Carabinieri company headquarters in Baiano, according to IrpiniaNews.

The report says the man went to the Baiano headquarters asking for his cards and money. When a carabiniere invited him to calm down, the man allegedly slapped him, causing injuries certified with a five-day prognosis.

According to the same account, the man then argued with the officers, fled into a building used as service accommodation and barricaded himself inside before being stopped.

IrpiniaNews reports the arrest on the alleged charges of injury to a judicial or public-security officer and aggravated resistance to a public official.

Following a direct hearing before the court in Avellino, the judge reportedly ordered the precautionary measure of compulsory signing.

The report does not publish the man's name. The allegations and the precautionary measure reported do not establish a final criminal conviction.
