A young defender from Irpinia has taken an early step into senior football. Matteo Biondi, from Frigento, has joined the first team of Ponte 2019 after playing for Benevento's Under 17 side.
Biondi is a central defender. An earlier IrpiniaNews report identifies him as born in 2009 and 1.88 metres tall, and traces his youth path from Azzurra di Grottaminarda to Benevento, where he earned a place in the Under 17 squad after a trial.
His new club is reported as Asd Ponte 2019 in the headline and as Asd Sporting 2019 in the article body; the exact official name is not independently confirmed in the available research. The team is coached by Nicola Facchino and plays in Group B of the Eccellenza championship.
Biondi made a quick debut in the Coppa Italia against Salernum Baronissi. The local report describes the appearance as positive, but does not give the date, score, or minutes played.
No independent club, league, or match record was available to corroborate the reported transfer and appearance beyond the local-press accounts.
