AVELLINO — The decision on whether to send Loredana Scannelli to trial in connection with the Manzo homicide case has been postponed to 6 November.
The development followed the preliminary hearing held in Avellino on 23 October 2026, according to reporting by IrpiniaNews.
Speaking after the hearing, Scannelli said she trusted the judiciary and hoped for an end to what she described as a nightmare. “Confido nella magistratura,” she said, adding that she hoped for “la cosa giusta, uscire da questo incubo.”
Scannelli, accompanied by her lawyer Rolando Iorio, maintained that she had always told the truth.
What happens next remains for the court to decide. The available reporting does not establish whether the court will order a trial, and the allegations and procedural developments reported so far do not independently establish what happened to Mimì Manzo.
