A 60-year-old man in Avellino who allegedly presented himself as a guaritore has been placed under house arrest on accusations of sexual violence against a 23-year-old woman, according to a report by IrpiniaNews.

According to the report, the man claimed to practice healing through hand imposition, breathing exercises and relaxation techniques. He allegedly met the young woman and persuaded her to attend a session at his home.

During that session, the man is accused of subjecting her to unwanted touching. The report also describes a later episode in which he allegedly coerced her through a threat of self-harm.

The woman subsequently filed a complaint at the Carabinieri station in Avellino. That complaint led to investigations by the Carabinieri and the Avellino Prosecutor's Office.

A judge for preliminary investigations (Gip) of the Avellino court ordered house arrest as a precautionary measure. The report states the suspect was due to appear for a guarantee interrogation.

These remain allegations. The case as reported concerns a presumed perpetrator subject to a pre-trial precautionary measure, not a final conviction, and no further procedural outcome has been established.
