Police from the Ariano Irpino Commissariat arrested a 29-year-old man from Avellino on 26 September 2026 on suspicion of possessing drugs with intent to deal. The arrest followed a vehicle check, during which officers found a heat-sealed bag containing 5.80 grams of hashish and 17 grams of marijuana. Officers also found three aluminum cylinders, each containing a hand-rolled cigarette with suspected narcotic material.
A subsequent search of the man's home in Avellino led to a larger seizure: 45 grams of hashish, 243 grams of marijuana stored in three glass jars, two precision scales, and materials used for packaging doses. All of the substances and equipment were seized by police. The reports do not identify the man by name, nor do they specify the exact time and place of the vehicle stop.
The judge for preliminary investigations at the Court of Benevento validated the arrest and imposed a precautionary measure requiring the man to report regularly to the judicial police.
