Carabinieri Forestali units from Lacedonia and Castel Baronia, working with territorial Carabinieri officers, have reported a 58-year-old local mechatronics artisan to the Avellino Public Prosecutor's Office over alleged environmental and building violations in the municipality of Lacedonia, in the province of Avellino.
According to the report, the artisan was allegedly operating without the required environmental authorizations in premises lacking urban-planning conformity.
During the inspection, officers reportedly found approximately 10 cubic metres of waste, still containing used oils from repair work, deposited loosely on the ground without classification. The waste found on the premises was described as including both hazardous and non-hazardous special waste.
The man was reported at liberty on allegations of building abusiveness, unlawful management of hazardous and non-hazardous special waste, and operation without environmental authorizations.
The premises, measuring approximately 200 square metres, and the waste were placed under seizure, while the equipment and tools used for the activity were confiscated.
The report describes a referral to prosecutors, not a final judicial finding or conviction. The date of the inspection and the identity of the artisan were not disclosed, and no details of subsequent prosecutorial proceedings were provided.
