Carabinieri NAS personnel, working with local health authority (ASL) staff and municipal police, inspected several beauty and personal-care businesses in the provinces of Avellino and Salerno, according to Il Mattino.
Basement massage centre closed
In the Avellino area, inspectors found a massage centre operating without a S.C.I.A. or any other operating authorisation. The centre was located in a basement that did not meet the required hygienic-sanitary standards.
The competent authority ordered the immediate cessation of the activity and prohibited its continuation. Il Mattino estimates the value of the interdicted structure at 100,000 euros.
The report does not identify the municipality, the business, or the operators involved, and does not specify the date of the inspections.
Hair salon sanctions and seized cosmetics
In the Salerno area, inspectors found seven employees of a hairdressing salon without the required professional qualifications. Some cosmetics displayed for sale lacked the required information documentation and had not been registered in the European Commission portal for mandatory notification before market placement.
Nine administrative sanctions were issued in that case, for a total exceeding 22,000 euros.
In the Piana del Sele, inspectors administratively seized 300 cosmetic packages, including lipsticks, mascaras, eyeshadows, and make-up cases. The products carried information only in a foreign language or lacked mandatory warnings. An administrative fine of 1,000 euros was issued.
No independent official NAS, ASL, or municipal release confirming the figures was cited, and any subsequent appeals or proceedings have not been reported.
