The owners of iPhix, an electronics shop on Via Martiri d'Ungheria in Scafati, say their business has been targeted in three attempted thefts between 18 and 27 September 2026.
The latest incident was caught on the shop's security cameras. According to Il Mattino, thieves entered the store and took several items before fleeing when the shop's anti-intrusion fog system activated and filled the room, forcing them to abandon the attempt.
The owners say the episode follows two earlier attempts in the same nine-day period, leaving them frustrated despite what they describe as significant prior investment in cameras, alarms and other security measures.
They also said patrols attended all three incidents, but only one response came from the Carabinieri in Scafati. The other two interventions involved patrols from Nocera Inferiore and San Valentino Torio.
The owners say they have footage of the incidents and intend to make it available as they call for stronger nighttime territorial controls in the area.
It has not been reported whether the same group was responsible for all three attempts, what the exact value of the stolen goods was, or whether arrests or charges have followed. No independent statement from the Carabinieri was included in the available reporting.
