A 35-year-old man was found seriously injured near the municipal building in Bellizzi with a gunshot wound to the head.
Passers-by found the man and raised the alarm. Emergency responders intervened at the scene, alongside the Carabinieri.
The man was taken to a hospital in Salerno, where he was admitted to the intensive-care unit in critical condition with a reserved prognosis.
The investigation was assigned to the Bellizzi station and the Battipaglia company of the Carabinieri. The man's identity, the circumstances leading to the shooting, and any later medical update were not reported.
