Unknown perpetrators forced their way into the Movimento 5 Stelle office in Ercolano, in an overnight break-in reported to have taken place between Sunday and Monday.

According to Il Mattino, entry was gained by forcing the entrance shutter. Nothing was reported stolen.

The incident was made public by Loredana Gargiulo, local coordinator of the Movimento 5 Stelle and municipal councillor in Ercolano. Gargiulo described the episode as disturbing and condemned it as an attack on democratic values, dialogue and freedom of expression.

A formal complaint has been filed. The Carabinieri station in Ercolano is investigating.

The exact address of the office, the extent of any material damage, the number of those involved and the motive have not been reported. No independent statement from investigators has been published in the sources consulted.
