Naples waste company ASIA has started a dedicated cleaning and waste-collection service in the Villa Comunale, introducing new experimental uniforms and a special logo created for the city's America's Cup events.
The service was introduced during the week of 21-27 September 2026, when Naples and Campania hosted institutional, sporting and cultural events linked to the second Preliminary Regatta of the Louis Vuitton 38th America's Cup.
What the new service covers
The operation covers the two portions of the Villa Comunale currently open to the public, near Piazza della Vittoria and Piazza della Repubblica.
According to ASIA, the service uses dedicated workers supported by a street sweeper and a waste-collection vehicle. As part of the same intervention, 75 new waste bins were installed in the two areas, chosen to match the furnishings and historic character of the Villa.
ASIA administrator Ciro Accetta presented the intervention as part of an intended evolution of the company's identity and services. Naples councillor Vincenzo Santagada linked the service to maintaining the usability and care of the Villa Comunale.
What visitors will notice
Visitors to the Villa during America's Cup week will see three practical changes:
First, ASIA personnel assigned specifically to the Villa and the wider America's Cup area. Second, mechanized street cleaning alongside manual collection. Third, new bins distributed through the two accessible sections of the park.
The service does not yet have publicly reported operating hours, staffing numbers or an end date, and the exact placement of the 75 bins has not been detailed.
Yellow and blue instead of orange
The most visible change is the uniform. Operators working in the Villa and in the America's Cup area are wearing experimental yellow-and-blue uniforms rather than ASIA's traditional orange workwear.
The company describes the colors as a trial identity for staff involved in the event. Accetta said the new look is meant to signal a broader renewal of ASIA's public presence, tested first in a high-visibility setting.
A logo inspired by sails and the sea
ASIA also created a dedicated America's Cup logo for the occasion. In the design, the two "A" letters in ASIA become sails, while the blue refers to the waves of the sea around Naples.
The concept connects the utility company's name directly to sailing imagery, underlining Naples' role as host city for the America's Cup events. No standalone official image of the logo has been published with the available reports.
Why this week matters
The Villa Comunale service arrives as Naples places its waterfront and public spaces at the center of the Preliminary Regatta programme. The 21-27 September calendar brought races together with citywide institutional and cultural initiatives, increasing attention on the areas around the Villa, the seafront and the event venues.
For residents, the intervention offers a more cared-for Villa during a crowded event week. For visitors arriving for the Cup, it provides clearer waste-collection points and a recognizable ASIA presence tied to the regatta's visual language.
