The operation involved inspections of 126 people and 51 vehicles. Officers issued 22 sanctions under the traffic code and referred seven people to the Prefecture for alleged personal drug use.
One 34-year-old man was arrested after officers allegedly found him in possession of hashish, a precision scale and packaging material. He was placed under house arrest pending trial.
Thirteen people were reported for various alleged offenses, including possession of a vehicle jammer, evasion from house arrest, damage to an electronic monitoring bracelet, driving without a licence, threats against medical staff and electricity theft. Bakery on Via Funicelle suspended
Carabinieri and personnel from the local health authority, ASL, also inspected commercial premises. A bakery on Via Funicelle was found to have serious hygiene and sanitation deficiencies, including failure to apply self-control procedures for product shelf life.
At the bakery, inspectors seized 380 kilograms of food and identified one undeclared worker. They imposed a fine of 9,000 euros and suspended the business.
The bakery's 56-year-old owner was reported for alleged building-code violations because the laboratory lacked authorization.
