Rail traffic on the Circumvesuviana line was blocked for almost an hour after a woman stopped on the tracks shortly before Boscotrecase.
A train was held between Boscotrecase and Torre Annunziata for several minutes while the line remained stopped.
Military personnel intervened, removing the woman from the tracks and accompanying her to the station.
Service later returned to normal.
