Naples has started work on a plan to reorganize and upgrade the public space on Via Claudio, between the Federico II engineering campus and the entrances to Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
According to Il Mattino Napoli, city officials reviewed the current layout of the area in front of the engineering campus and near the stadium stands, including the Curva B entrances.
The meeting brought together representatives for Infrastructure, Local Police and Mobility, along with Andrea Prota, president of the Federico II School of Polytechnic and Basic Sciences.
Officials ordered an immediate technical assessment of the site to prepare an operational proposal for reorganizing the pedestrian area and improving the public space.
A central objective is to create as many free motorcycle parking spaces as possible. The aim is to improve mobility, livability and safety for students, residents and supporters.
No final design has been announced. There is no confirmed number of parking spaces, budget, timetable or construction schedule, and it remains unclear whether the reorganization has received final approval.
