Carabinieri from the Bagnoli company, working with health inspectors from ASL Napoli 1, inspected five food and drink businesses on Via Petrarca, on the hill of Posillipo in Naples.
The businesses checked were two bars, a pub, a restaurant, and a delicatessen-gastronomia.
At the first bar, inspectors recorded 11 violations, including differences from the approved floor plan and hygiene and structural deficiencies. The outdoor area was suspended from use and cleared, and a fine of 1,000 euros was issued.
At the second bar, officers found eight violations, including failure to meet general hygiene requirements. That business also received a 1,000-euro fine.
The pub and the restaurant were also found to have violations, but the source report does not give specific details of the findings or the penalties applied to those two premises.
The heaviest penalty went to the gastronomia, where five violations were found, including breaches of HACCP food-safety procedures. Fines there totaled 2,000 euros.
