Carabinieri have seized 84 kilos of cocaine in Scampia, found inside a car parked a short distance from the Vele.
The vehicle was an Alfa Romeo Giulietta reported stolen on October 17. It was spotted during a patrol in the area near the Vele, according to reports from Il Mattino Napoli and ANSA.
Inside the car were two duffel bags containing 71 vacuum-pressed bricks of cocaine, for a total weight of 84 kilos.
Personnel from the investigative unit of the Naples provincial Carabinieri command also attended the scene to carry out technical examinations.
No arrests or formally identified suspects have been reported. Investigations are ongoing, and authorities have not confirmed who placed the car in the area or where the shipment was headed.
