A 14-year-old boy of Moroccan origin, long resident with his family in Nola, left home voluntarily after an argument with his mother about use of his phone.

After the boy failed to return, his parents reported his disappearance to the police station in Nola.

Officers monitored the phone the boy was using in real time. The signal was first detected in Rome and later near Piacenza, indicating that he was traveling north by train.

The Nola police then contacted the Lombardy railway police, sharing a photograph of the boy and the details of two possible trains he could have been on.

He was located at around 4 p.m. in a Milan train station and taken to the railway police offices. His father traveled to Milan, and the boy was returned to him that same evening.
