A 53-year-old woman from Naples was rescued from the sea near the waterfront on Via Napoli, between Pozzuoli and Bagnoli, after falling from beyond the wall overlooking the water.

According to Il Mattino, the woman's cries were heard by a 28-year-old man of Cuban origin, who entered the sea and brought her back to shore. Passers-by called the 118 emergency medical service, whose personnel performed resuscitation procedures at the scene.

The woman was transported in red code to San Paolo Hospital. She was reported not to be in life-threatening condition.

Police from the Pozzuoli commissariat were investigating the circumstances of the fall, which had not been established. It remained unclear whether the fall was accidental or intentional.

What is known is limited to the single verified report: the exact time of the incident, the identity of the rescuer, and further medical details were not confirmed by police, emergency services, or the hospital in the available evidence.
