Police on Ischia have arrested three young people accused of prolonged physical and sexual abuse against a 20-year-old man, according to a report in Il Mattino.

The three suspects, described as roughly the same age as the alleged victim, were placed under a pre-trial detention measure issued by a judge. The order was notified by Ischia police in coordination with the Naples Prosecutor's Office.

The alleged offences include joint torture, continuing group sexual violence aggravated by the victim's reduced ability to defend himself, private violence, and unlawful dissemination of sexually explicit videos, the report states.

According to the report, the 20-year-old allegedly suffered physical and psychological violence, coercive sexual acts and degrading conduct. During one episode, he reportedly suffered a fractured arm.

Investigators allege that parts of the abuse were recorded and then distributed through messaging systems. Police searched the suspects' homes and seized electronic devices, and analysis of those devices allegedly revealed the recorded abuse, according to the report.

The investigation followed the victim's decision to report the alleged abuse.

No names for the suspects and no full chronology of the alleged episodes were provided in the report. The exact dates, locations and number of alleged incidents were not specified, nor were full medical details of the victim's injuries.

The allegations remain subject to judicial proceedings, and no final ruling has been reported.
