A 26-year-old man from Pianura arrived on his own at San Paolo Hospital in Naples with a gunshot wound to the knee and bruising to his face.
At the hospital, the man, who is already known to law enforcement, told staff that unknown people had shot him during an attempted robbery in the Coroglio area.
Carabinieri are investigating the incident. Officers are working to verify his account and reconstruct what happened, as the circumstances remain unclear.
The injured man was later discharged from hospital.
