Alarm is growing in the hilly Capodimonte area of Naples after three people with their faces covered were seen moving through the neighborhood in the early hours of the morning.
According to Il Mattino, the three individuals — described as wearing balaclavas, gloves and black caps — were spotted at around 4 a.m. in the Piazzetta Lieti area. Witnesses said the group then boarded a Smart parked near Villa Capriccio and drove off quickly toward Via Bosco.
Shortly afterward, a motorcycle was reported stolen on Via De Martino. Local residents suspect the three people seen near Piazzetta Lieti were responsible, though that link remains an allegation by residents and has not been confirmed by police in the reporting available.
Following the episode, Carlo D. Restaino, councillor of Naples' III Municipalità, appealed to residents to stay vigilant and report any suspicious movements to law enforcement.
No identities and no registration details for the Smart have been reported, and there is no confirmed information on arrests or a formal investigation.
