A woman undergoing treatment for a serious illness in Naples accidentally threw away a medicine described as indispensable to her therapy. She later realized it may have ended up in a used-clothing collection container near Piazza Carlo III.
After retracing her steps, she reported what had happened. The Carabinieri then contacted the operations coordination office of ASIA, the Naples environmental services company, to ask for help locating the medicine.
ASIA brought in the contractor responsible for collecting used clothing. Teams spent several hours checking containers and sorting through clothing before they found the medicine.
The medicine was recovered and returned to the patient.
ASIA administrator Ciro Accetta thanked the workers, the law-enforcement officers, and the employees of the contracted cooperative who took part in the search and recovery.
