A dispute between two minors on the Castellammare di Stabia waterfront reportedly escalated when the parents of one boy confronted the other in the villa comunale area.
According to the initial reconstruction reported by Il Mattino, the confrontation followed an argument between the two peers in which one boy was slapped. The parents of the boy who had allegedly been slapped then approached the other minor.
The boy's mother reportedly demanded an apology. His father allegedly slapped the minor and threatened to go to his home, according to the same report.
The episode was reportedly recorded by young people present at the scene. Il Mattino reports that a video of the incident was published by MP Emilio Borrelli.
