Parts of the Bagno Elena beach establishment in Pozzano, Castellammare di Stabia, have been placed under preventive seizure over alleged unauthorized building works and changes of use.
According to Il Mattino, the measure was carried out on 29 October by personnel of the Coast Guard. It followed a decree issued by the preliminary investigations judge of the Torre Annunziata Tribunal at the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office.
Inspection and alleged violations
The investigation began after a July inspection conducted by the Coast Guard together with municipal police and municipal technicians.
Investigators allegedly found works carried out without the required authorizations and deviations from the maritime state concession. The reported changes concerned rooms originally intended as a caretaker's area, infirmary, cash desk and solarium. A masonry oven with an attached work counter was also contested.
The newspaper reports that the area is subject to landscape protection and is classified as a bathing zone by the general town-planning scheme. The legal hypothesis reported is unlawful occupation of maritime state property under Articles 54 and 1161 of the Navigation Code.
Investigation ongoing
The exact extent of the areas and structures covered by the seizure has not been specified in the available report, nor have the identities or positions of any persons under investigation.
No information has been reported about a response from the establishment's management. The proceedings remain at the investigation stage, and responsibility must be established in later phases.
