Carabinieri from the Napoli Poggioreale Company, supported by the Sarno canine unit, carried out overnight anti-drug checks across eastern Naples, including Barra, San Giovanni a Teduccio and Poggioreale.
The largest seizure took place in via della Stadera. There, the anti-drug dog Thelma found drugs in communal areas of the buildings: 1.6 kg of crack, 960 grams of hashish and 255 grams of marijuana, for a total of about 2.815 kg. According to the report, the drugs were attributed to unknown dealers.
In a separate intervention during the same operation, carabinieri stopped three men — a 40-year-old man, an 18-year-old from Boscoreale and a 20-year-old from Salerno — who were allegedly preparing to use a drone to introduce drugs into a prison.
The alleged drone pilot was found with 15.41 grams of cocaine, 5.90 grams of crack, four mobile phones and a drone fitted with insulating tape and fishing line. The three men were arrested, according to the report.
