The Herculaneum Archaeological Park will be open free of charge on Sunday, 1 November 2026 and Wednesday, 4 November 2026. On both days the scheduled opening hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with last admission at 3:30 p.m.

The two dates correspond to public observances in Italy: 1 November is All Saints' Day, and 4 November is National Unity and Armed Forces Day. The official park website confirms the initiative as "Free Admission on November 1 and 4."

What to see

A visit to the park covers the streets, houses, and shops of the ancient city of Herculaneum. Visitors can walk through the excavated urban area and see domestic and commercial spaces that form the core of the archaeological site.

Practical information for the free days

The 8:30–5:00 schedule with last entry at 3:30 p.m. matches the park's winter timetable for the period from 15 October to 15 March. Visitors planning an afternoon visit should therefore arrive well before 3:30 p.m., as entry after that time is not permitted.

For the free admission on 4 November, online booking is not available. The free ticket must be collected directly at the ticket office on the day of the visit.

Operational details may change. Before travelling, visitors should check the official Herculaneum park website for updates, including any notices about access arrangements or temporary closures of individual houses or areas during the two free-admission days.
