The scene took place in the water in front of the Rotonda Diaz, on Naples' seafront promenade. According to the report, the footage was shared by deputy Francesco Emilio Borrelli and picked up by Radio Marte, after which it attracted attention on social media.
Il Mattino does not identify the young woman. In its account, published by Antonio Cangiano on 15 September 2026, the newspaper describes her only as a student-like figure absorbed in her pages.
It is also not confirmed what she was reading. The report leaves open whether she was studying for a university exam session or simply enjoying a novel by the sea.
