An alleged attempted "truffa dello specchietto" on the A1 motorway near the Acerra–Afragola interchange was recorded by a driver's dashcam and later shared on TikTok, according to a report by Il Mattino.
The report describes a familiar pattern: a sudden noise against the side of the vehicle, followed by horn signals and pressure from another car intended to make the driver pull over.
In this case, the driver did not stop. According to the report, the driver continued toward the Asse Mediano and took the Acerra exit.
The pursuing vehicle was described in the report as a green Peugeot 2008. Il Mattino reports that it followed the driver for several hundred metres while repeatedly honking, in an apparent attempt to force a stop.
The dashcam footage, shared on TikTok, reportedly shows both the initial ruse and the subsequent pursuit.
The identity of the other driver has not been established, and the report does not state whether a formal police complaint was filed. The exact date and precise location of the incident were not specified.
