A kitchen floor gave way in a residential building in Naples, sending a father and son falling into the apartment below. Both were rescued alive by firefighters.
The incident occurred at Via Arenaccia 173, where the floor of a second-floor kitchen collapsed. The two victims fell through the opening into the lower apartment.
Firefighters intervened and extracted both the father and son alive. They were then transported by ambulance to the CTO hospital in Naples. According to the report, neither was in danger of death.
The apartment on the lower floor was unoccupied at the time of the collapse.
Carabinieri from the Napoli Borgoloreto station responded to the scene and are examining the circumstances of the incident. The cause of the floor failure has not been established.
