Naples opened the #BeActive MultiSport Village at the Villa Comunale on 25 September 2026 with about 3,000 students and the participation of Minister for Sport and Youth Andrea Abodi.

The village offers visitors the chance to try about 30 sports for free, supervised by federal coaches and staff from the organizations involved. It is open daily from 9:00 to 18:00 through Sunday, 27 September, with free admission.

The choice of Naples connects grassroots sports promotion with the America's Cup preliminary regattas taking place in the city.

National main event of the European Week of Sport

The Naples village is the national main event of the 2026 European Week of Sport. The initiative is promoted by the Ministry for Sport and Youth, coordinated by the Department for Sport, and implemented operationally by Sport e Salute.

According to Sport e Salute, the national program for the week includes about 1,000 initiatives across Italy. The 2026 edition carries the claim "#BeActive Your Way: No pressure, no judgement".

The Naples program includes more than 30 equipped free activity areas at the Villa Comunale.

Sea-literacy area in the Race Village

The program also includes a sea-literacy area developed with the Federazione Italiana Vela in the America's Cup Race Village.

The area links the Villa Comunale sports activities to the sailing context of the preliminary regattas, adding a water-sports and marine-awareness component to the land-based disciplines on offer.
