Truck drivers protesting high fuel costs are continuing their strike in Campania with uneven intensity, with some blockades lifted and others still in place.
The protest has eased in parts of the region but remains patchy. Roadblocks on the A1 and in the Teverola-Carinaro industrial area have been removed, while the blockade near the refining facilities in via Argine, in the Napoli Est area, has continued.
Fuel shortages spread
The pickets around Napoli Est and the via Argine refining facilities are hindering tankers from leaving with petrol and diesel, contributing to fuel shortages at filling stations.
The resulting scarcity is affecting essential services, waste collection and some public-transport and maritime connections, including links with Ischia, Capri and Procida. Only some of the blockades have been removed, so relief has been partial.
Port traffic slows at the Bausan gate
Freight traffic at the Port of Naples has slowed, particularly around the access road to the Bausan gate. Heavy-goods vehicles have blocked that approach, limiting goods traffic bound for the port, while private cars have continued to pass.
The wider protest has also affected the A1, the A30 and several regional junctions, with consequences for routes in and out of Naples and for food supplies.
Fresh food moves again, but problems remain
The removal of some blockades has allowed a partial restart of fresh-produce distribution. Logistics problems nevertheless remain, and the situation can change quickly during the day.
What remains unclear
The exact number of pickets still active, and how long they will last, is not reported consistently across sources. Conditions at fuel stations, inside the port and on island ferry connections may therefore shift rapidly as blockades are lifted or reinstated in different locations.
